The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration for Coed T-Ball will begin BY MAIL ONLY, Tuesday, March 1.  There are two separate T-Ball programs.  Five-year-old T-Ball is for children that will turn 5 by April 30, 2011.  This program will use the T for hitting through out the program.

Six-year-old T-Ball is for children who will turn 6 by April 30, 2011.  This program will be a combination of coach pitch, and use of the T.   Children turning 7 years old by April 30, 2011, are not eligible. Please see the Parks and Recreation Small Fry program for information for those children.

The program will meet on Saturday afternoons April 23rd – June 4th at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center Field.  Each Saturday afternoon there will be a practice, and a three-inning game.  The cost of the program is $87 and includes a team shirt and hat.

Registration for Indoor Field Hockey Clinics at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center will be starting by mail only February 1, 2010.  These specialized clinics will meet on four consecutive Sundays starting February 28^th.

The classes will meet on Sunday February 28, March 7^, 14, 21. Session I is for girls 8 to 10 years old, and the program will be from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  The second session will be from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm for children 11 – 12 years old.  The program will help children develop skills in stick work, passing, receiving, shooting, basic offensive and defensive skills and small sided games.

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that there is still space available in guitar lessons that will be offered at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center in Glenville.  The program will be held for eight weeks beginning Monday January 25 – March 22.  The program will have classes for children 8 years old and up to adults on Mondays.  The class schedule is:  8 to 14 year olds 4 to 5 pm, or 5 to 6 pm, 8 to 14 year old returning students 6:15 to 7:15 pm and adults 15 and up 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

So if you want to rock like Jimi Hendrix and Green Day now’s your chance to get started.  Learn chords, scales, theory, and best of all learn to play your favorite songs!!!  One-hour classes will focus on providing a high level of instruction in a fun, cooperative atmosphere.

Guitars will be provided each class if needed.  Rentals are available.
