<p>The auction will also run online, and many prizes will be available for online bidding from February 1 through February 12.</p>

<p>The Greenwich Choral Society, celebrating over 80 years of excellence in choral music, is holding open auditions on Tuesday, September 1 from 6 to 8pm, as well as Saturday, September 12 from 10am to 12noon. Singers are needed for all voice parts, particularly tenors. The Greenwich Choral Society, a 120-voice experienced volunteer chorus, sings a broad repertoire of classical music. Featured works to be performed during 2009-2010 will include Stephen Paulus&#8217;s So Hallowed is the Time (December 5, 6), Music from a French Cathedral with works by Fauré, Vierne and others (March 7), and Verdi&#8217;s Requiem (May 23).</p>
<p>The Chorus rehearses Tuesday nights in the First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich. A 10-minute private audition consists of vocalizing to demonstrate range and quality of production, followed by sight-singing; NO prepared piece is required. <p>In this season’s concluding concert, the Greenwich Choral Society, led by<br />
Paul F. Mueller, will present a program of magnificent vocal masterpieces by the musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.</p>
<p>Included in the program for full chorus, soloists and orchestra will be extended segments of Mozart’s incomparable Requiem, his sparkling Coronation Mass, the beautiful Ave Verum Corpus, several famous operatic arias and a horn concerto extract.</p>
<p>The Greenwich Choral Society, the area’s most prestigious chorus, has been delighting audiences here and abroad for more than 82 years. Critics have praised the chorus as “simply magnificent”, “vocally strong and musically sensitive&#8221; and &#8216;terrific.&#8221; Come and be thrilled.</p>

<p>Single ticket prices are $25 and $35 for adults, $20 and $28 for students. Children 12 and under (one per adult) may attend free. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount.</p>
