As one of the country’s most beloved political figures, Elizabeth Edwards’ life and the difficulties she endured unfolded in front of millions of people.  From the unexpected death of her 16-year-old son to her ongoing battle with cancer, Edwards showed Americans that the best way to handle adversity is with dignity and strength. 

Mrs. Edwards will donate her time to share her experiences during a keynote address at the Center for HOPE’s Annual Luncheon, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Woodway Country Club in Darien.  In addition to discussing how her own personal struggles impacted her life and that of her family, Mrs. Edwards will reference inspirational passages from her new book, Resilience.

The event is co-sponsored by Barrett Bookstore in Darien, and all proceeds will benefit the Center for HOPE and The Den for Grieving Kids – Family Centers’ bereavement and critical illness support programs.  VIP seating and opportunities to meet Mrs. Edwards are available.
