The Town Tennis Tournament will be held over a three-week span beginning July 16.  The finals will be at Binney Park on July 30, with a rain date of July 31.

There are divisions for men, woman, singles, doubles, mixed doubles, youths 17 and under, and youths 12 and under.

The divisions are broken up into open division 18 to 34 years, 35 and over, 50 and over.  Participants may register for one, two or three events.  The fee is $25.00 per event for singles players, $40 per event for doubles teams.

Olds), $70.00 for one-hour junior and adult classes, and $85.00 for the one and a half hour adult classes.

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that all Town of Greenwich Tennis courts are open for play.  Greenwich residents must have a valid tennis card to play on any of the 36 Town tennis courts.

To receive tennis card applications please call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 622-3788. The cost for a tennis card is $28.00 for the season; guest cards are also available for $45.00.  Children 5 to 15 years old may use their Park Pass; seniors may use their Senior Park Pass.

The lights at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center will be on until 10 pm each day starting Monday May 3.

Please remember there is no public use on any school tennis courts when school is in session until 5:30 pm.

Tennis for Tots, offered by the Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation, will begin indoors at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center on Mondays starting January 25^th for six weeks.

The program for children 3 and 4 years old will run from 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm, or 3:15 pm to 3:45 pm.  The 5, 6 and 7 year old program will be from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm, or 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm, 6, 7, and 8 year olds class will be from 5:15 pm to 6 pm.  The cost is $75.00 for the 3 & 4 yr olds, and $90.00 for the 5 – 8 yr old programs.

Pat Cianciulli who has been the director of the Town’s Tennis Program for two years will teach the program.  He also teaches at various private clubs in Greenwich, and has worked at the US Open.  He has taken the latest workshops with the USPTR.

The course will be held in the Bendheim Western Civic Center Gym.  Tennis rackets will be provided.  Registration will begin by mail only Monday January 4 – 8.  In person registration at the Civic Center begins on Monday January 11.
