40 E Elm Street
Greenwich, CT

French furnishings and accessories company Pierre Deux (founded by two men both named Pierre – hence Pierre Deux) and recently owned by the Cointreau family closed all 23 of its stores nationwide last week after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection. The brand has long been the go-to purveyor of French country style in the States. The company’s first shop was first opened by founders Pierre Le Vec and Pierre Moulin in Greenwich Village in 1967, selling imported French antiques and signature curtains, pillows, and fabrics.

Pierre Deux is currently running a liquidation sale at its store on East Elm in Greenwich. The beautiful and colorful French country fabrics are 50% and 60% off and other items are significantly discounted. On a recent visit the liquidators were unable to tell us how long the sale would be going on but did say that they would be there until the last item was sold.
