Free Lunch and Learn from Greenwich Red Cross

September is Preparedness Month – Prepare by Enrolling!

Despite the fact that preparedness saves lives, polls indicate that only 25 to 30 percent of Americans have taken concrete steps to prepare for potential emergencies.  During September, National Preparedness Month, the Red Cross hopes to increase public awareness and knowledge about the importance of preparing for disasters and other emergencies.

Although the idea of preparing for an emergency may seem daunting, taking a few simple precautions now will save you time during a disaster, when every second counts. 1) Get or build a disaster kit, 2) Make a family disaster plan and 3) Stay informed.

To learn more, register now a free 60-minute presentation to help you learn how to prepare for a disaster.  Learn how to develop an emergency plan, shelter in place, build a disaster kit, and handle medication and vital equipment.  All participants will receive a starter disaster kit with basic supplies including toiletry items, a first aid kit, a “File of Life” to record emergency information, an emergency space blanket and brochures preparedness information.
