Our own local celebrity, Mary Ann Hoberman, named Children’s Poet Laureate of the United States, will read from her two latest books, Strawberry Hill and The Tree That Time Built. Books will be available for purchase and can be signed by the author.
Mary Ann says “I knew I was going to be a writer even before I knew how to write! I was about four years old when I first understood that many of the stories I loved so much had been made up by real people, with real names, rather than having always been here like the moon or the sky.” And wow, did she write! With over forty books to her credit she will have a lasting legacy in the world of children’s books.
