All about ‘Green Roofs’ – At Audubon Greenwich
This ‘not-to-be-missed’ program will feature four panelists with extensive experience installing and maintaining Green Roofs. They will show examples and take questions about projects that would be suitable for new or existing buildings in the Northeast region of the US. The panelists will include: John Kruzshak of Ever-Green Environments LLC, Aleksandra Moch from Green Roof Concepts LLC, Craig Kopfmann from Green Acres Landscape and Design, and Chuck Arnold from Silktown Roofing.
This is the final segment in the Spring 2010 “Green Homes & Green Building Series” at Audubon Greenwich.

GREEN ROOF PANELIST BIOGRAPHIES:
John Kruzshak is the owner of Ever-Green Environments LLC, a landscaping and interior plantscaping company that pride themselves on not using synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. He has worked in the landscaping industry since he was a young man. After graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University, he and his wife opened Ever-green Environments and for the last five years, he has been installing green roofs and living walls – now the largest segment of their business. Aleksandra Moch is a expert in green roof design and was the first in the nation certified as a Green Roof Professional (GRP). Her strong background in landscape design, soil science, hydrology and storm water management make her uniquely qualified to cover all aspects of green roof design, installation and maintenance. Her designs focus on self sustainable plant composition and functionality of the space without compromising site aesthetics. Craig Kopfmann is the Founder and President of Green Acres Landscape and Design, a full service landscape design, build and maintenance firm with offices in Wilton and Monroe, CT. He is a Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) and Green Roof Professional (GRP), and a member of ‘Green Roofs For Healthy Cities’, the CT Nursery and Landscape Association, and the Professional Land Care Network. He has traveled extensively to attend seminars and workshops on storm water management, sustainable landscaping, green roof technology, meadows and organic land practices. Charles (Chuck) Arnold, is the Senior Project Manager for Silktown Roofing out of Manchester, Conn. His areas of expertise include: Green Roofing, Building Envelopes, Waterproofing, Roofing, Roof Mounted Solar Photovoltaic, Air Vapor Barriers, and Sheet Metal Roofing & Siding. He has extensive experience on a variety if major construction projects and was notably the Project Manager for one of the largest green roof installations east of the Mississippi – the National Audio Visual Conservation Center in Culpeper, Virginia – with 5.5 acres of extensive, semi-intensive and intensive green roof systems. The project included roofing & waterproofing, various paver systems, air vapor barriers, cavity wall waterproofing and drainage, leak detection and fast water drainage systems. He also recently completed Green Roofs at the Conn. Convention Center in Hartford (terraces, planters, roofing and sheet metal) and the Wesleyan Central Plant Boiler Plaza Deck in Middletown, Conn. (intensive green roofing). His certifications include: Green Roof Professional (GRP), NRCA Spec Right, ABAA, Asbestos Removal, OSHA 30. (www.silktownroofing.com)
