Strickland Brook Garden Park

stricklandparkThis beautiful garden at Strickland Brook Park, next to Cos Cob Library was designed and planted by the Westchester Fairfield Horicultural Society.  Today, the society held a plant sale of outstanding quality. Kate Liba, the president, informed me that the proceeds of the sale would go toward maintaining and improving the garden.  I was unaware that the society created this lovely retreat in the heart of Cos Cob but am grateful that they did.  The society also sponsors monthly meetings at various locations in the region.  Some of the meetings feature speakers with particular areas of expertise; others take place at outstanding private gardens or other properties of horticulture interest. Join West Fair Hort and the Garden Education Center in the second annual Dazzling Dahlias show. Members of the community are welcome to participate. Dahlia Society officials will judge the exhibits of cut flowers. In addition, West Fair Hort members are eligible to compete for the John Troy trophy. Arrangements of dahlias will also be displayed.
