Bastille Day Events In and Around Greenwich

bastilledayRemember the French this weekend as they celebrate Bastille Day.  Although Bastille Day is officially on July 14, many establishments are celebrating earlier starting this weekend.  On Saturday, visit the French outdoor market in Stamford with all the fresh offerings to make a lovely meal à la française. On Sunday, there are two venues near Greenwich, one in Fairfield, and the other in Southbury (New Haven County), as well as NYC to choose from (see below). Greenwich will officially honor Bastille Day on Tuesday, July 14th, at Town Hall with Peter Tesei, First Selectman and Chantal Chauvin, Consule Générale Adjointe in New York attending.

You are invited to the raising of the French flag in front of Greenwich Town Hall. Everyone present at the flag raising ceremony is invited to Meli-Melo for a “French Breakfast”, accompanied by  “Viennoiseries”  from Versailles Restaurant in honor of Maurice Clos Versailles, a friend and long standing supporter of the Alliance Francaise of Greenwich.
